How Ayurveda Changes My Life

If we are seriously integrating an Ayurvedic lifestyle then it no longer becomes possible to ignore the unhealthy choices we make. Ayurveda provides everyone a routine, diet and lifestyle that promotes wellbeing and health. No matter how much knowledge and learning one has, it still comes back to the individual making a choice.

If we choose to over eat, sleep in or have that extra cup of coffee then we are choosing to tip the balance of our bodies and mind into vikruti or a state of imbalance. Poor digestion, lethargy and over stimulation may result from our actions.

If we look at the cause underlying these actions we often see addictive, insecure, unhealthy emotional stability. These unconscious patterns of behavior run our lives and lead us to make unhealthy choices. One of the most profound aspects of Ayurveda is that it reveals our relationship with “self responsibility”.

Ayurveda can make us examine our lives by looking at the way we treat and mistreat our bodies and mind. It can lead us to make changes in our diet, tackle our addictions, achieve deeper rest. It is there in every aspect of our day and night to support us into full health and it puts it all in our own hands. For me this is a gift. I feel blessed to have received this gift of Ayurveda from Umā Inder.

I see it as an integral part of any spiritual path. In fact if you are following an Ayurvedic lifestyle then you are already walking a path of self realization, self responsibility and self love.

I am more conscious of the choices I make. I have become more aware of my body and what is needed to promote a healthy balance. My mind is clearer, calmer, less distracted than ever before. I am beginning to feel the freedom of being fully human and following a path that is going with nature.
